Our Story

The Birth of Y Naught

I’m Ken, a mechanical engineer and yoga teacher. But before any of that, I was just a kid with a dream.

It was a regular afternoon at Barnes & Noble (the same one where I’m writing this now) when everything clicked. I was tutoring my friend in physics, explaining kinematics: position, velocity, acceleration. When I got to Y₀ (Y naught), I told him it represents your starting position in physics. Your origin point.

Something about that resonated with both of us. From that day forward, whenever we faced something intimidating or wanted to begin something new, we’d look at each other and say: “Physics!” or “Y naught!”

Because the hardest part of anything is just the start.
